THE 2018 TRENDS STICKING AROUND FOR 2019

New year new wardrobe right? Well, not necessarily! It looks like many of our much loved trends that we were investing in over 2018 are here to stay! This means that we can keep wearing our favourite pieces and it is also great for our bank balance! Here are some of the key trends that look like they are here to stay. Chances are you currently own something within these trends that can help you slide seamlessly in to the New Year in style.

1 Animal Print

Just when we had thought we had exhausted every animal print possible we were wrong and it looks like we can wear them all again! On the Catwalk over fashion month brands such as Gucci, Off-White and Burberry were showing animal print for SS19. Leopard print, snake print and zebra print were still out in full force and we are feeling happy about it. Don’t be ditching your leopard midi skirt just yet!

2 Neon

So with this one it was more a case of everyone seeing it on the SS19 catwalks but jumping straight on the bandwagon and therefore we feel like it’s been done during 2018 when the best is yet to come! We ourselves wore the neon green and pink Zara roll necks to LFW last season. I’m sure you have seen these at least once on someone on Instagram! Balenciaga and House of Holland were just a couple of brands who where showing this trend on the catwalk giving us all the inspo on how to wear a trend that can be fairly tricky to style. So, if you have anything resembling a highlighter in your wardrobe… pull it out!

3 Brown and Beige

Brown was the new black during AW18 and it looks like we can keep hold of these pieces that made us feel super chic. Brands like Max Mara and Fendi were showing a lot of earthy tones and full beige looks on the catwalks. A lot of the styling of these were using oversized blazers, long macs and trenches which we are HUGE fans of! I’m sure most people have a blazer knocking around in their wardrobe. One of our fave items is a beige blazer of our mums that we have worn so many times over the last 2 years and will feel proud to be wearing again this year!

4 Cycling Shorts

This is one that we only very lightly dabbled in during 2018 but I know some people have been on this trend for a while now. Paris SS19 shows had this down as the number one trend that was seen during all the shows. The cycling shorts were seen in almost every colour, texture, print and length with Jaquemus showing some bright orange very short ones to Ottolinger showing some longer denim ones. If you have some of these in a draw bring them out and if you are unsure on the trend you could always give your gym shorts a trail…

5  Hair Accessoires

We have been adding to our ever growing collection of hair accessories and we will most definitely be wearing them through 2019. There are so many affordable hair bands/clips/scrunchies out there and chances are you have a few clips knocking about at home even if they are a few kirby grips to create the look. We absolutely LOVED the styling of hair accessories with oversized earrings in the Alessandra Rich SS19 show, it was STUNNING. You can also pick up some unique and affordable ones on eBay!

Let us know if you would like to see styling any of these trends or which ones you will be taking through to next year!
