Styling colour into your Autumn Wardrobe

Its that time again, that long hot summer we had seems like a fading memory and we are starting to phase longer sleeves, trousers, and Autumn accessories into our daily outfits again to keep warm. Letting go of Summer and its associated wanderlust is always bittersweet, but for us, the sweetness is in dressing for the cooler weather. Autumn is one of our favourite times of year to dress for, we always say that styling for the colder months is easier and more fun than for the warm season, layering, playing with textures, colours and accessories is suddenly a requirement for any outfit and we actively enjoy the process of putting these looks together.

We have been working with Accessorize on their style series campaign to style up key Autumn Winter trends in our own way. If you have followed us for a while now you’ll know that one of our favourite aspects of styling is working colour into our wardrobe. We love to incorporate colour into our everyday looks, it puts us in a happy mood and we often find it lifts others and inspires them to make colourful outfit choices too, something which is always lovely to hear people say! In collaboration with Accessorize for this blog post, we aim to show you some of our favourite trend-led pieces for the coming weeks and how styling them to bring colour into your wardrobe can be fun and brighten up those colder days.

One trend that we definitely don’t think is going to disappear into the colder months is rainbow. We have seen a huge spike in the use of rainbow prints over the past year, and it seems even better to think about wearing it in the colder weather. We love this rainbow blanket scarf by Accessorize, and have paired it here with a mustard beret. Picking the mustard colour out of the scarf and matching it with this hat gives the rainbow trend an Autumnal feel. Berets too are something we are loving right now, and this mustard colour beret is perfect for Autumn. we are looking forward to styling this one with some browns, greens and burgundy shades too! Liv is also wearing some fun earrings with this look, beaded earrings are everywhere right now and by removing the beret you could take this look on into the evening with these statement earrings (Alice’s linked).

Next up is one of our favourite looks so far this Autumn, we have paired this beautiful checked scarf with another beret, this time a fluffy one for extra warmth. We are really appreciating the size of these scarves, they are big enough to wear around the neck or wrap around as more of a blanket for extra warmth and after all, thats a main feature of wearing a scarf we think! Pop this one on for your brisk walk to work on chilly mornings and you’ll be glad of it, or equally these beautiful rust and pink tones mean you could be wearing it walking off that Sunday roast in the park.

Alice matched her rust beret with this little check and floral print bag and we have to say we are both obsessed with this. It’s a great size and colour for Autumn and can be worn with coloured coats or chunky knits.

For our final look, we have gone for another blanket scarf (you can tell Liv feels the cold…) because it’s just so cheerful, the perfect outer layer with any coat when worn here as a blanket, we are in love. The baker boy hat trend is another take on a winter hat if a beret isn’t for you, its stylish and warm at the same time, and this one in cord ticks two trend boxes for us, we are loving cord at the moment and it really is popping up everywhere.

We have loved getting into the spirit of Autumn styling with our colourful pieces from Accessorize, and would love to know which your favourites are, and which looks you could be inspired to try, remember, colour is for everyone and we would love to hear your colourful feedback!
