USING VALENTINE’S DAY AS AN EXCUSE

Valentine’s Day is upon us and the question I am asking is why are there so many negative connotations around it? So you are single? So what! We just love making a meal out of every occasion (quite literally) so use Valentine’s Day as an excuse to do exactly what you want to do! Personally we are more in to the fact that the day before this year is Pancake Day, but don’t think we will be letting Valentine’s Day pass us by without using it as an excuse to do something fun! I mean, why let that opportunity go!

You want to go partying with the girls even though it’s a Wednesday night? Do it, it’s Valentine’s Day!

You want to eat 2 tubs of ice cream and watch Bride Wars? Do it, it’s Valentine’s Day!

You want to make a 5 course meal and only sit in candle light for the entire evening with the person you love? Do it, it’s Valentine’s Day!

Are you in a relationship and are worried you are not going to get your favourite flowers? Just breathe and remember the time they surprised you at the airport with your favourite bunch just to be kind with no hinting.

Use it as a time to treat yourself with a gift, your best friend or even your mother. Bake cookies with your siblings and give your pets an extra treat that night!

I suppose what I am saying is take that negative and turn it in to a positive, make the day in to an occasion just for the sake of it whether you are single, in a relationship or ‘it’s complicated’. It is only another day realistically so don’t put pressure on it, just use it as an excuse to have a fun time, take control and do just what you want to do, just for the sake of it.
