After a fun filled festive period of over indulging and loosing track of the days, January hits and it’s like a bubble has popped. Part of us wants to cling on to the turkey sandwiches and keep our pyjamas firmly glued on but the other part of us wants to gym twice a day, clear out our wardrobe and eat super healthy.
Here are a few tips for beating those January blues that we try to tell ourselves:
Don’t be too harsh on yourself:
We expect to wake up on January 1st and spring in to action as a new human. Just remember everyone has a bad day, everyone feels bad that they broke their diet, didn’t go on a run or just generally didn’t make that extra step towards their new year goal. Just take a breath and start again tomorrow without feeling too guilty.
Put a little light at the end of the tunnel:
Whether it is a trip to the theatre, a night out with the girls or a night in with your family plan something to look forward to. We always find that this is an amazing way to beat tho January blues. This does not mean that you have to be spending lots of money, remember the little things like a great movie on the sofa with a hot chocolate can be just what you need.
Pamper yourself a little:
The chances are most of us got some sort of bath/shower smelly bits of Christmas. Well this is the time to use them! We all feel a bit groggy, pale and ugh at this time of year. We often find that enjoying a bath filled with bubbles, a face mask and some new hair care can give us just the little lift we are after.
Believe in yourself!
No matter how big or small your goals and resolutions are just remember that you are more than capable of achieving them and you are already closer than you think! Don’t be put off by the down days just keep on going!
Happy 2018!
